One spring evening, the peak of the cherry blossom season drew us to the neighborhood around Guro Digital Complex Station. After a lovely walk underneath a delicate white-and-pink canvas of blossoms, the crisp spring air left us with a specific craving: Minari Samgyeopsal.
A quick search on Naver led us to a place called Yeokjeon Daeji (역전대지). We couldn’t feel more grateful for the find, and in this post, I’ll let you know exactly why this spot turned our spring outing into a perfect 100/10 experience.
What is Minari Samgyeopsal?

For those unfamiliar, Minari Samgyeopsal is a seasonal delicacy that pairs thick, juicy slices of grilled pork belly with Minari (water dropwort). Minari is a fragrant, crunchy green herb known for its detoxifying properties and its ability to cut through the richness of the pork. When the greens hit the pork fat on the grill, they wilt slightly and soak up all that savory flavor—it is arguably the best way to enjoy Korean BBQ during the spring months.
About Yeokjeon Daeji
Located just a stone’s throw from the bustling Guro Digital Complex, Yeokjeon Daeji is a restaurant that prides itself on uncompromising quality. They serve 100% domestic Handon (Korean pork) sourced directly from the famous Majang-dong meat market. While many places claim to be “Minari specialized,” Yeokjeon Daeji sets itself apart by focusing on incredible freshness and generous portions that truly live up to the “mountain-high” reputation they’ve built online.
Atmosphere: Stepping into a K-Drama

As soon as we walked in, we were hit with that nostalgic, local K-BBQ vibe we all know so well from K-dramas. With the round stainless steel tables, the ambient chatter of the neighborhood crowd, and the warm glow of the lights, it felt like being in a scene of a show. It’s the kind of place that feels unpretentious and “real”—perfect for a cozy date after a long walk or a lively night out with friends.
What’s on the Menu?
The menu is straightforward and designed for value. They offer premium cuts like Samgyeopsal (Pork Belly), Moksal (Neck), and specialty cuts like Kkodeulsal (crunchy neck) and Hangjeongsal (powl jowl)—all priced at 16,000 KRW for a generous 200g.
However, the real winners are the Set Menus. Ranging from the 800g Yeokjeon Set to the Couple and Sammok sets, these combinations include their signature soup and steamed egg, offering a significant discount for those who want to try a bit of everything.
Food Review: A “100/10” Experience
We ordered the Couple Set (600g), and everything was spectacular.
The Meat: The quality was classic. You can tell the meat is fresh; it had that perfect “snap” when bitten and was incredibly juicy with zero gamey smell.

The Minari: This was the absolute best part. We have visited a fair share of Minari Samgyeopsal places, but this was easily the most generous! The pile of Minari was huge, vibrant, and incredibly fresh. Watching it sizzle next to the pork was a highlight of the meal.

The Yeokjeon Gukbap: The rice soup was quite a star! It’s savory, spicy, and hearty—the kind of broth that makes you want to order another bowl of rice immediately. It’s rare to find a side soup at a BBQ place that feels like a main dish in its own right.
How to Get There
Getting there is very easy for anyone exploring the Guro area.
Address: Walk approximately 256m from Exit 6 of Guro Digital Complex Station (구로디지털단지역). It’s a short walk that’s well worth the effort.
Final Verdict
If you find yourself near Guro, especially during the blossom season, Yeokjeon Daeji is a must-visit. Between the high-quality Majang-dong pork, the literal mountain of fresh Minari, and the K-drama atmosphere, it’s a dining experience that feels both authentic and special. Whether you’re a local or just visiting for the views, make sure to save room for the Gukbap!
