Best Cherry Blossom Spots Near Hapjeong Station: A 2026 Walking Guide

Spring in Seoul is officially in the air, and if you are anything like me, you are already counting down the days until the city is blanketed in soft pink petals. While places like Yeouido or Seokchon Lake get all the fame, my absolute favorite area to witness the peak is Hapjeong.

What makes Hapjeong so special? It’s the perfect blend of quiet residential charm, trendy cafes, and streets that transform into floral tunnels. The best part is how accessible it all is. All you have to do is take Seoul Subway Line 2 to Hapjeong Station, and you’ll find yourself within a short walking distance of some of the most photogenic spots in the city.

Here is your guide to the must-visit cherry blossom spots around Hapjeong:

1. The Classic Tunnel: Yanghwa-ro 6-gil (양화로 6길)

This is usually the first stop for anyone hunting for blooms in the area. This street is famous for its dense rows of trees that arch over the road, creating a natural pink canopy. It feels like walking through a movie set.

Pro Tip: Try to visit early in the morning on a weekday to capture the street without too many cars or pedestrians in your shot.

2. The Quiet Charm: Dongmak-ro 8-gil (독막로 8길)

Just a short stroll away, Dongmak-ro 8-gil offers a slightly different vibe. The architecture here provides a beautiful urban backdrop to the delicate blossoms. The contrast between the grey city buildings and the soft spring colors is a dream for street photography.

3. Blooms & Brews: Grey Lab

You can’t visit Hapjeong without stopping at a cafe, and Grey Lab is a standout during cherry blossom season. Known for its sleek, minimalist aesthetic, the cafe features a terrace area where you can sip your coffee right under the falling petals. Their signature drinks paired with the view of the blooming trees make for the ultimate “Spring in Seoul” experience.

4. The Local Favorite: Huiujeong-ro (희우정로)

If you keep walking toward the Mangwon area, you’ll hit Huiujeong-ro. This street feels a bit more “local” and tucked away. It’s lined with cherry blossoms that lead you toward the Han River. It’s the perfect place to end your walking tour, perhaps with a snack from the nearby Mangwon Market in hand.

Tips for your Hapjeong Visit:

  • Timing: The peak usually hits in late March or early April. Keep an eye on the local forecasts as the window for full bloom is short!
  • Footwear: Since all these spots are close together, it’s a very walkable route, but comfortable shoes are a must.
  • Stay Respectful: Since many of these spots are in residential or business areas, remember to keep noise levels down while you’re hunting for that perfect photo.

Hapjeong really captures the magic of a Seoul spring without the overwhelming crowds of the major parks. Happy blossom hunting!
