During my time living in the Nangok area, I frequently relied on the train commuting to and from Sindaebang Station as my regular means of transportation. The station stands elevated over Dorimcheon, a charming waterway that originates somewhere near Gwanak Mountain. Beneath the elevated railway lies a delightful network of walkways, flanking the shallow stream of Dorimcheon. Though not very extensive, these paved passages boast the company of hundreds of cherry trees, creating a picturesque ambiance. I found solace in strolling up and down these lanes, which became my personal pavement of tranquility for two whole years. It’s hard to put into words the sheer beauty that engulfs these routes when the cherry blossoms bloom. This area has eternally held a special place in my heart, serving as my beloved springtime playground. I eagerly await the opportunity to return and leisurely wander beneath the gorgeous canopy of blossoms once more this year.
