Lifestyle Travel Winter in Korea

Café MINNIM and the First Snow of 2018

Just to put it in my record, first snow struck Seoul this year on 24th November. It was not the first snow for Korea this year since an unexpected snow storm had hit northern mountains in Gangwon-do Province almost a month ago. I woke up excited for the plan at the time I had with friends but discovered out of the window that the whole town blanketed in white. But, as Elsa says, the cold never bothered me anyway. The plan had to get stuck on!

Lately, I have kinda listed on the name of cool coffee places that local Korean boasted out on their Instagrams, just to have it as an extra activity for weekends. And the place up for the week was Minnim.

Minnim café is located in Sungshin Women’s University neighborhood. It is easily approached from Sungshin Women’s University Station (성신여대입구역) of subway line number 4. Once you reach the station, take exit no.1. It will take you less than 10 minutes to get there.

The place, at first, captured the desire of my photography with its architecture. The giwa (traditional roof tiles) are pretty well combined with its modern designed infrastructure. It is not very spacious. There are 3-4 seats at a long bar by the main window and a few isolated table that is perfect for a group of four. Besides, if you are an art fan, this place could also be one good recommendation. Inside, in every corner of the house, pieces of art work are exhibited.

On the menu, various housemade coffee, tea, and dessert are presented with reasonable price. My regular order that I make at every coffee place I visit, vanilla latte, here at Minnim turned out to be quite very satisfied. Not too plain and proper level of sweetness. We too did not miss to try their dessert. The signature dish used to be pinned was Croissant Tiramisu now changed to daily presented from the house. They served a very crispy waffle with a big scoop of vanilla ice-cream on top, poured with mellow honey. Boy oh boy, this particular creation really did make our day!

We expected that the weather would be a little warmer since the snow just came but the wind brutally ruined our hope. Nevertheless, our hearts and tummies were sounded with nice talks and good sweetness.
